Quality services depend on a quality workforce. 

For people with disabilities, skilled and well-supported workers, employed with decent working conditions and job security make all the difference.

HACSU was formed over 100 years ago as the union for workers in the historic mental asylums.

Today HACSU proudly represents the disability support workers and administrative workers who make a difference in the lives of people living with a disability every day. HACSU members work across public, private and not for profit services and come from many different occupations. If you would like to become a member, please go to our  or if you want to see the benefits of becoming a member.

The disability services industry requires highly skilled and professional support workers to provide the best quality supports for people living with disabilities. HACSU believes that proper remuneration and conditions for workers will attract and retain these workers. 

HACSU not only fights for workers but the disability sector as a whole. HACSU has been a voice for quality service delivery since the beginning, campaigning for increased funding, resources and services for the Victorian Disability Sector.
