This multifaceted position combines membership administration tasks with proactive engagement initiatives and database management, allowing you to make an impact across the entire membership lifecycle. You'll collaborate with a close-knit team to ensure members are provided a positive experience from graduation to retirement, and have the opportunity to make internal processes more efficient and effective. Responsibilities include:

1. Responding to member queries via phone and email, including routine follow-up calls
2. Processing membership applications and payments. 
3. Processing and being responsible for membership wide payment runs. These payment runs can be quite substantial. You will be all accountable for payment runs you complete. 
4. Updating member records in our CRM (iMIS) accurately and efficiently. 
5. Conducting data integrity checks, rectifying errors, and identifying opportunities for process improvement.
6. Generating routine and ad-hoc reports.
7. Proactively engaging members at all stages of the membership, driving member retention and satisfaction.
8. Assisting with planning and implementing of outbound call/contact campaigns and engagement initiatives. 
9. Collaborating with team members to optimise workflows and automate tasks. 
10. Supporting branch staff across all membership processes including maintaining membership records.

Skills and Experience

You'll ideally have worked in a membership or customer/client services team, potentially in a union or member-based organisation. You'll have a knack for picking up new systems and workflows, and come to work with a continuous improvement mindset. You enjoy understanding systems and processes, and digging into data to find opportunities for improvement.

• Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
• Confident telephone manner, including engaging with members professionally and empathetically
• Experience in data extraction and reporting.
• Skills in iMIS (highly desirable) and/or other membership databases or CRM systems.
• A sharp eye for identifying weak points in processes.
• Enthusiasm for technology with an ability to pick up new software and workflows quickly.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
• Passion for social justice and a commitment to trade union values.
• Experience processing accounts receivable and direct debits ideal but not essential.
• Qualifications in business and/or data management ideal but not essential.
